Poll: Syrian refugees divide Idaho

Here is an oddity for you – Idaho Christians don’t want to accept Syrian refugees while Idahoans with no religion wish to take the Christian route of welcoming refugees, many of whom are fleeing for their lives, a new Idaho Politics Weekly poll finds. Yes, there are political implications in the new survey by Dan Jones & Associates, as well. Republicans and political independents really don’t want Syrian refugees in Idaho or the U.S., while Idaho Democrats want to welcome them – both to the nation and to their state. But the religious implications are clearly here – since many of the refugees would be Muslims, not Christians/Bob Bernick, Idaho Politics Weekly. More here.

Question: Do you think the numbers would flipflop, with Republicans be in favor and Democrats opposed, if the refugees in question were coming from a Christian country?
