County Targets Land Use Code

Don't look now, but the planning staff and the Kootenai County Planning & Zoning Commission will discuss a proposed interim Land Use & Development Code at a workshop planned for 6 p.m. next Thursday in the courthouse administration building, Room 1: Here's how the item is described on the workshop agenda: "The purpose of this discussion item is for the staff and the Planning Commission to review the proposed consolidated code, its organizational structure, and the salient changes, especially those that amount to a new direction in policy. For this agenda item, the focus of the discussion will center on Chapters 1 through 5 of the code. For the sake of efficiency, only the staff and the Planning Commission will be discussing the subject matter. The public will have an opportunity to comment under agenda item VI below."
