Falling Apart?

One of the favorite pieces of public art work in Coeur d'Alene is the relatively recently installed Allium Spring Chorus, by artist, David Tonnesen, at the Third Street entrance to McEuen Park and the boat launch. However, the art work appears to be a little too much like the dandelion that it seems to represent. Pieces are missing, as though the window has blown the dandelion seeds away, like those in your neighbor's yard. Walkabout, who snapped this photo, reports seeing a child snatch a broken piece of the Spring Chorus that was lying on the ground. At first I blamed vandals, but city spokesman Keith Erickson tells Huckleberries Online that the art work arrived in Coeur d'Alene with pieces broken. The artist will repair the work some time in April or May.
