When was your last big winter fall?

Moments ago, a 76YO female slipped on ice in the parking lot of a business @ 100 block of Sherman Avenue in downtown Coeur d'Alene. She hit her head in the fall and is bleeding. Otherwise, she seems all right. An ambulance is on the way. The unfortunate woman's accident reminds me of the first time that I truly had a bad fall after moving to the Northwest in 1977. It was in Kalispell and I was wearing cowboy boots, of all things. I was crossing a cut-out for a driveway when my legs slipped out from under me and I landed flat on my back. A pratfall, if you will. I was uninjured. Then, I was only 27 or 28 at the time. Far more malleable than I am now. I also performed a similar pratfall or 2 while learning to ice skate on frozen lakes in the Flathead Valley. My last fall? A few years ago, I slipped on ice hidden by snow in the parking lot of Pilgrims while out walking. That fall knocked me to my knees and hurt my left knee which I've blown twice playing sports. How about you?

Question: Describe your last bad fall on winter ice?
