Clown threat brings added security

TWIN FALLS — Two Twin Falls schools are taking extra security precautions Monday after Twin Falls police found a possible scary clown threat. Police notified the schools Monday they found a possible threat in the area surrounding Vera C. O’Leary Middle School and Lighthouse Christian School, Twin Falls School District spokeswoman Eva Craner said. The threat isn’t specific to the schools, Craner said, but they're taking some security precautions. At O’Leary Middle School, students are being kept inside at lunchtime, and exterior building and classroom doors are locked. Teachers are also monitoring hallways during passing periods. A man dressed as a clown reportedly chased people on South Idaho Street in Wendell on Wednesday, police said/Twin Falls Times News. More here.

Question: Why are clowns considered scary?
