Otter lauds private job growth

Betsy Russell/Eye on Boise reports:

Gov. Butch Otter has sent out an op-ed article to Idaho newspapers discussing Idaho’s economy and private-sector job growth, as the Labor Day holiday approaches. He lauds gains in job growth in Idaho, but warns, “Not all job growth is created equal.”

“Don’t get me wrong; good-paying jobs are inherently valuable wherever they are created,” Otter writes. “But economically and politically, growing the number of government jobs in society generally is not considered real progress. After all, government is the ultimate service industry. Its focus is not on producing or manufacturing but rather on improving the underlying conditions for private-sector economic growth.” More here.

Question: Any Labor Day Weekend plans?
