The minutes of the April 19 minutes of ignite cda shows considerable discussion about Memorial Field. The historic softball field is the new focus of Four Corners redevelopment by the urban renewal agency. The board appears to be leaning toward revitalization of the existing Memorial Field grandstand, rather than constructing a new one. Remediation would cost $200,000 to $300,000, while new construction would cost $600,000. The urban renewal agency has budgeted $1,559,100 for the Memorial Field overhaul, which will include turning the ball diamond to point north rather than northwest. The revitalized grandstand will then stand along the first base line. Also, the redeveloped area will include new restrooms, concessions stand, storage, administration office, ticket sales office behind the grandstand. This area will also serve the adjoining Coeur d'Alene Carousel. I urge you to read the discussion about Memorial Field in the minutes (Pages 7 to 12) here.
