Dump trucks were coming and going, carrying off concrete that is being torn from the old Coeur d'Alene Skate Plaza and elsewhere around the Memorial Field site. In a second photo in this set, you'll see what's left of Memorial Field. The ground is being prepared for a parking lot that will be shared with Kootenai County, on the other side of Government Way. Urban renewal plans also call for turning the Memorial Field site slightly. In the future, the old grandstand will be located down the first base line rather than behind home plate.
