Vandals get shellacked on Tobacco Road

Sometimes the final score isn't indicative of a how game went. Idaho's 66-0 loss at North Carolina isn't one of those games. We've got details on the rout that transpired in Chapel, N.C., after the link.

To sum it up succintly, the Vandals were never remotely competitive with UNC. They trailed 28-0 after what seemed like an interminable first quarter -- and that was with two Tar Heel turnovers. And they went into halftime down 45-0.

Idaho quarterback Dominique Blackman, after three productive games as starter, was 19 of 35 for 109 yards and four interceptions. The Vandals had nine first downs (to UNC's 25) and a season-low 189 total yards.

UI is now 0-5 with its WAC opener with New Mexico State next week at home. The last time the Vandals lost their first five games was 2003, the final season for Tom Cable before he was fired.
