If it's possible for a Pixar movie to be both cute and problematic, "Elemental" might just fit that bill. The story is set in a fictional metropolis called Element City, inhabited by anthropomorphized characters representing three of the four elements as defined by the ancient Greeks: Air people, rendered as floating puffs of clouds with arms, legs and mouths full of wind; Water people, shown as walking, talking, shapeshifting blobs of H2O; and Earth people, here presented as, well, humanoid dirtballs with plants growing out of them. (One Earth child is named Clod, an example of the film's gleefully punning nomenclature, in this case pronounced sort of like "Claude.")
