In the wake of news that quarterback Vernon Adams Jr. is contemplating a transfer to the University of Oregon, the Eastern Washington Athletic Department issued a statement Thursday clarifying its position on transfers by undergraduate student-athletes. Referring to Adams, the department stated that “we have granted the ability for our student-athletes to explore what opportunities may exist.”

EWU football coach Beau Baldwin provided raise

Even though he was mentioned as a candidate at other schools, Eastern Washington University football coach Beau Baldwin has signed a new 5-year contract, worth an additional $45,293 annually, to remain in Cheney. According to documents obtained this week from EWU Human Resource Services, Baldwin’s contract will pay him $212,717 a year, plus additionally approved increases.
