Troy Slack

Troy Slack joined The Spokesman-Review in June of 2024 as a summer high school intern as part of the Teen Journalism Institute. He has returned for the Summer 2026 program which is funded by Spokane Teachers Credit Union. A recent graduate of Ridgeline High School in Liberty Lake, he will begin studying accounting and finance this fall at the University of Washington's Foster School of Business, with the goal of working in investing. Outside the newsroom, Troy manages self-directed investment portfolios and writes equity research on publicly traded companies. He is also an accomplished cellist and competitive chess player.
