Molester Gets Term In Prison Man Was Expelled Earlier From Nic, Bible Study Group

A 20-year-old man who was asked to leave North Idaho College and a Bible study group for harassing women was sentenced Monday to 10 years in prison for sexually abusing a 13-year-old girl. Joshua M. Lepinski may avoid prison, however, after spending 180 days in an evaluation program - possibly a boot camp for sexual offenders, 1st District Judge Gary Haman ordered.

Agency Also Blamed In Grand Theft Case ‘There Was, To Some Extent, Quite A Bit Of A Lack Of Management In Regard To Those Deposits’

A judge and prosecutor put part of the blame on Idaho's Department of Health and Welfare when one of its former employees was sentenced Monday for grand theft. Janine S. Edwards, a former secretary at the Coeur d'Alene Health and Welfare office, was accused of stealing more than $24,000 in child support payments brought to the office by parents.

Corps Engineers Tour Flood-Damaged Dikes County Officials Feel Optimistic That Extent Of Problems Made An Impression

Engineers, emergency workers and politicians toured Cataldo's damaged dike Thursday as the Army Corps of Engineers began deciding how to fix the flood barrier and how much money to spend. The visit by five engineers was a good sign for county officials and flood workers who have been fearful that repairs would come too late to prevent flooding this fall.

Electronic Theft Used For 150 Phone Sex Calls

Someone has been illegally using credit card numbers to make more than 150 calls to telephone sex lines, Coeur d'Alene police said Monday. And it appears that all the calls - worth more than $6,000 - have been made from a Coeur d'Alene motel during the past two weeks.
