Meeting Supports Endangered Act

Environmentalists will hold a meeting today on congressional action involving the federal Endangered Species Act.

The meeting is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Unitarian Universalist Church of Spokane, 4340 Fort George Wright Drive.<

“Grizzly bears don’t vote, and salmon don’t contribute to political campaigns,” a flier for the event reads. “Yet the Endangered Species Act - the single law that stands between rare animals and extinction - is under attack in Congress.”

The event is sponsored by 41 conservation, corporate, recreation and religious groups.
