Mrs. Bateman’s Baking Butter, the brainchild of Rigby, Idaho nutritionist Kristine Bateman, is a butter-flavored fat substitute that contains only 13 grams of fat per cup, compared to 176 for real butter.
While it includes a bit of butter and soybean oil, the main ingredient is maltodextrin, a starch that comes from corn, rice and potatoes. And it keeps for six months in the fridge - assuming your willpower lasts that long.
