Try A Scone With Your Spot O’ Tea

If you’ve ever made scones from scratch, you’ll understand how Sticky Fingers Bakeries got its name.

Fortunately, the Spokane-based business makes it easy with scone mixes in eight flavors: original, Welsh, blueberry, lemon poppy seed, apple cinnamon, cranberry, chocolate chip and banana walnut (a ninth, cherry, is due in July).

Just add water, bake for 12 to 15 minutes and serve with a spot of tea. How veddy proper - and not veddy messy at all.

Cost: $4 to $6 for a 15-ounce package (makes eight to 10 scones).

Available: Joel Inc., Copper Colander, Harry O’s Fresh Market, Nordstrom and Hallett Farms in Spokane; Kitchen Konnection and Partners in Coeur d’Alene, and Kitchen Ambassador, Sharon’s Hallmark and Pend Oreille Cheese Co. in Sandpoint.
