Canadian Motorcyclist Killed After Driving Underneath Truck
A 52-year-old motorcyclist was killed Friday in Ferry County after he crossed into the wrong lane and drove underneath an oncoming semi-truck.
Julian M. Waldman, Courtenay, British Columbia, died at the scene of the accident about 11:20 a.m., the Washington State Patrol said.
He was driving a Honda Goldwing motorcycle. Waldman wasn’t wearing a helmet, the state patrol said.
He was heading west on state Highway 20 about 17 miles east of Republic when he crossed a center line and drove underneath a semi-truck.
Waldman died of massive head and internal injuries, the state patrol said.
The driver of the semi-truck, Michael G. Swan, 59, Colville, wasn’t injured. Swan was wearing a seat belt, the state patrol said.
