Hints From Heloise

Dear Heloise: Every kitchen has a drawer that holds treasures and junk. In my kitchen there was not a drawer handy for that purpose.

I have limited counter space, so I chose a breadbox to fit in the corner under the cabinet holding our everyday dishes.

The breadbox is 15 inches by 8 inches by 7 inches - just right to hold pencils, coupons, grocery list, scissors, Scotch tape and favorite snapshots of the children. - Ruth Stewart, Heath, Texas

Dear Heloise: After watching fellow campers awkwardly carrying block ice in dishpans, I decided upon a better way.

Wrap the block in a bath towel. It’s easy to grip, won’t slide around and won’t drip in the car on the way back to camp. - Bill, Pittsboro, N.C.
