Jo Huckenhull Receives President’s Award For Art
Jo Huckenhull, a faculty member of Washington State University’s fine arts department, received the Women’s Caucus for Art President’s Award at a recent ceremony in Boston. She was cited for her contributions to the women’s movement and the arts.
Huckenhull, who joined WSU in 1972, has been director of the women studies program within the College of Liberal Arts since 1986.
She specializes in painting and printmaking and demonstrates a global consciousness and concern for human issues.
Denel O. Ingraham, Spokane, recently earned membership in Lutheran Brotherhood’s 1995 President’s Club for his high sales. Ingraham is associated with the Peter Mauritsen Agency.
Amie Lynn Stroh, daughter of Robert and Lynette Stroh, Newman Lake, has been selected as a finalist for Washington state’s 16th annual Homecoming Queen competition to be held in Seattle. Stroh is East Valley High School’s homecoming queen.
The Exchange Club of Downtown Spokane recently honored several high school students for academic and leadership excellence.
Gregory Pschirrer, Ferris; Russell Popham, Lewis and Clark; and Elise Mordick, North Central, were named Youths of the Month.
In addition, Pschirrer was selected Youth of the Year to represent the Exchange Club of Downtown Spokane at the district level.
Each student received a plaque and $250.
The Inland Northwest Planned Giving Council elected the following officers to serve two-year terms:
Edward J. McBride, University of Idaho Foundation, president; Carol H. Neupert, Sacred Heart Medical Center, vice president; David B. Walker, US Bank of Washington, treasurer; Stacy N. Cossey, Smith Barney, membership; Steve Kocharhook, Catholic Diocese of Spokane, program; Nancy Gunn Harsha, Lutheran Social Services, secretary; and Jane Orr, Gonzaga University, immediate past president.
Tiffany Meyers, Melissa Migliuri and Bridget Venne, all seniors at Gonzaga Prep, are National Merit finalists.
