Hints From Heloise

King Features Syndicate

Dear Heloise: My son is interested in starting a stamp collection and I would like to show him the right way so that his collection will last through the years.

Can you tell me the best way to store the stamps and any other helpful hints we might find useful? - M. Saunders, Los Angeles

According to the wonderful people at the United States Postal Service, the best way for a collector to save stamps is in a binder, using hinges or plastic mounts on a hard backing. This binder should be stored in an upright position.

The USPS also has more information and a book on stamp collecting available at any post office. Gook luck to your budding philatelist. - Heloise xxxx
