Police Seek Robbers Who Maced Clerk

From Staff And Wire Reports

Osburn police are still looking for two men who robbed a gas station and sprayed a clerk in the face with Mace during the heist.

The two men arrived at the Osburn Gas Mart on Third Street about 11:45 p.m. Tuesday. They walked to the back of the store where one of the men grabbed a bag of chips and walked up to the counter, Police Chief Don Oeleis said.

“The cashier asked him how he was doing. The guy said ‘fine’ and shot him in the face with Mace,” Oeleis said.

The Mace temporarily blinded the clerk while the men grabbed money from the till and left, Oeleis said.

The suspects are described as white, in their early 20s. The man who sprayed the Mace was about 5 feet 8 inches tall, 150 to 160 pounds, wearing a black stocking hat, dark windbreaker, blue jeans and tennis shoes. He had a large hickey or birth mark on the left side of his neck.

The second man was about 5 feet 5 inches tall, 150 pounds. He also was wearing a black stocking cap and dark clothes.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call the Osburn Police Department at (208) 753-9001.
