Man Dies Following One-Vehicle Accident

From Staff Reports

A man was killed in a one-vehicle accident Friday night, causing the Washington State Patrol to close a section of Wellesley near State Route 290 in the Spokane Valley for nearly three hours.

The state patrol said the male driver was traveling west on SR 290 at 6:15 p.m. when he lost control of his vehicle before slamming into a dirt embankment.

The vehicle then bounced across the road and struck a bridge.

The driver’s family had not been notified and his name was not released. He was the only occupant in the car, according to the state patrol.
