Serbs, Muslims Fight For Village

Compiled From Wire Services

NATO-led forces, including Americans, took cover Tuesday as sustained combat broke out between Muslims and Serbians disputing control of a Muslim village in Serbian territory.

In the worst fighting since the peace agreement, Serbian forces began an attack at daybreak Tuesday using assault rifles, rocket propelled grenades and mortars, according to American officers.

Muslims responded, and at one point, say international observers, fired four mortar rounds into a nearby Serbian-held town.
