Rev Up Your Mouth

When Ed and Jenny Mattmiller of Rathdrum, Idaho, whipped up their first batch of Idaho Ignition Hot Sauce, it came out a little too hot to handle.

“It was pretty fiery stuff,” says Ed.

So the owners of Panhandle Pride Co. cut the heat in half and came up with a sweet but spicy sauce that will still start your engine, without burning out your valves.

Price: About $4-5 for a 12-ounce bottle.

Available: In Spokane at Harry O’s Fresh Market, in Coeur d’Alene at Que Pasa? Chili Co. and Shields Produce, in Sandpoint at Pend Oreille Cheese Co. and Sharon’s Hallmark, and at various locations in Rathdrum and Priest Lake.
