Pauline Stanfield celebrates her 100th birthday today.

Pauline Holstein, born Dec. 31, 1897, in Schoental, Russia, immigrated with her parents to Eastern Washington in 1902.

She married Cecil Stanfield in 1915 and they owned a restaurant for 30 years in Endicott, Wash., before moving to Ritzville in 1946. Mr. Stanfield died in 1960.

Their children are Marjorie Kembel, Ritzville, and the late Robert Stanfield.

Mrs. Stanfield has three grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, plus three grandchildren who have died.

She attributes her longevity to hard work, interest in people and living life to its fullest. , DataTimes ILLUSTRATION: Photo
