Rick Bonino Food Editor

While chocolate may be part of the language of love, chocolate from the freezer doesn’t always inspire passion.

The Spokesman-Review’s reader food panel found that Pepperidge Farm’s Chocolate Decadence cake lives up to its name, with superior flavor and texture for a frozen product. It’s part of the new Dessert Classics line, which also includes Black Forest, Golden Pineapple and Cream Cheese Carrot cakes.

So, let them eat cake - but remember to thaw it first.

“I’m not a huge fan of chocolate cake, but this is good. It’s moist, and the frosting tastes real, not like straight from Crisco.” - Meagan Coffey
