Sasquatch Escape With Win Over Vikings

Community Colleges of Spokane held Wenatchee to 17 second-half points and made just enough free throws down the stretch to edge the Vikings 47-45 in a women’s NWAACC Eastern Division tournament game Thursday at Spokane Community College.

The win assures the Sasquatch of a berth in the conference tournament. CCS (20-9) travels to Columbia Basin College (12-11) for a game Saturday to decide the top two seeds into the tourney.

Shelley Massingale scored 10 to pace the Sasquatch. Massingale, Kelli Pilkington and Alana Carlander each hit 1 of 2 free-throws in the final 1:30 to hold off the Vikings (14-15).
