Public Input Sought On Boat Ramp Plan

From Staff And Wire Reports

Boaters who have struggled to launch their boats at Lionhead Campground have an opportunity to help the state Department of Parks and Recreation improve the ramp.

The agency is seeking public input for a grant application to get funding to improve the boat ramp.

In recent years, excessive silting has made boat launching at the ramp difficult. The park’s staff sometimes has to clean the ramp every day, only to have it buried in 2 feet of sand by the next morning.

The parks department is making a grant request to the state Waterways Improvement Fund.

The agency also is seeking a grant to build a visitor center at Indian Creek Campground through the Recreational Vehicle Grant Fund in Boise.

To comment on either proposal, send written comments to Priest Lake State Park, No. 423 Indian Creek Bay, Coolin, ID 83821.

Comments must be received by Jan. 31.
