Ballet Students Headed For Summer Programs
Students of Ballet Arts Academy who auditioned and won acceptance to summer dance programs are:

Marisa Siewek, Erin Richardson, Krista Yep and Sarah Glesk, Aspen Ballet School.
Megan Reynolds, Long Beach Ballet Arts Center.
Whitney Cover, Oregon Ballet Theatre School.
Zachary Kinney, valedictorian of Selkirk High School in Ione, Wash., has received a $2,000 scholarship from RJR/Nabisco.
Kinney, a Washington Scholar and a National Merit Scholar, has been accepted to Stanford University.
He is the son of John and Erin Kinney, Metaline Falls, Wash.
Marine Lance Cpl. Jeffrey Graham recently received the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal for outstanding achievement while serving as embarkation clerk with Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron-13 in Yuma, Ariz.
He is the son of Judith Filking and John Graham, both of Spokane.
Marine Lance Cpl. Jason Brewer, a 1995 Spokane Valley High School graduate, was promoted to his present rank while stationed with Marine Wing Support Squadron 473 in Oak Harbor, Wash.
Justin Fischer, Pullman, received third place in the annual Undergraduate Research Awards presented by the Faculty Association for Scholarship and Research of Washington State University.
Fischer won for his work on the structure and function of mutant proteins in bacteria.
Seventeen Inland Northwest students received grants for two years of undergraduate study at Washington State schools of higher education, sponsored by the Workforce Training and Education Coordinating Board.
