Woods Jury Unable To Decide Penalty

From Staff Reports

A Spokane County Superior Court jury deliberated for seven hours Tuesday but was unable to decide the fate of convicted murderer Dwayne Woods.

The nine-woman, three-man jury will try again today.

Last week, the same jury took four hours to convict Woods, 27, of the April 1996 aggravated murders of two women.

Woods was convicted of killing 22-year-old Telisha Shaver and 18-year-old Jade Moore in a Valley trailer home.

Under state law, the jury must agree unanimously on a death sentence. If they cannot, Woods receives life imprisonment without parole.
