Teen Treated After North Side Stabbing

From Staff And Wire Reports

A man stabbed a 16-year-old girl as she was walking home from her job at a fast-food restaurant Monday, Spokane police said.

The attack occurred about 8:15 p.m. near the intersection of Fairview and Haven in north Spokane.

The girl told police she was walking when a man started shouting at her and calling her names. He then charged, she said.

When he reached the girl, he stabbed her several times in the forehead, arm and leg with a shiny object, police said.

The victim then ran away. She was taken to a local hospital where she was treated for minor injuries and released, police said.

The girl described her assailant as white, in his 20s, about 5 feet 11 inches tall and 165 pounds. He had little or no hair, she said.
