Hints From Heloise

Dear Heloise: I keep an 8-ounce juice glass right side up in the front corner of the upper tray of my dishwasher. When I open the dishwasher and I see that the glass is full of water, I know that the load of dishes has gone through the wash cycle.

This is particularly useful when visiting family members are sharing household chores. That’s also true at night, with the machine partly loaded with soiled dishes, when I plan to include the breakfast dishes in the morning.
