11-Year-Old Driver Crashes, Kills Passenger
A teenager is dead after an 11-year-old girl was allowed to drive and lost control of the car, Canyon County authorities said.
The 11-year-old was not identified, but sheriff’s investigators said she was behind the wheel Monday afternoon when the car went out of control and overturned.
Daniela Bistriceanu, 15, of Nampa was not wearing a seatbelt, officers said. She was thrown from the car and it then rolled over her. The 11-year-old and Bistriceanu’s 13-year-old sister, Viorica, were wearing seatbelts and remained in the car. Both were treated for minor injuries at Mercy Medical Center in Nampa and released.
According to police, Viorica said Daniela told the 11-year-old she could drive.
