Harold Hale Sagle, Idaho
Service for Harold Walton Hale, 75, will be at 2 p.m. today at Sagle Baptist Church. Burial will follow at the Seneacquoteen Cemetery near Vay, Idaho. Sherman-Knapp Funeral Home in Priest River, Idaho, is in charge of arrangements.
A 50-year Sagle resident, Mr. Hale died Saturday.
He was born in Eureka, Kan., and grew up on a farm before his family moved to Seattle in 1936.
Mr. Hale served in the Army during World War II.
In 1945 he married Beulah Hawkins.
He worked as a logger, auctioneer, dairy farmer and horse and tack trader.
Mr. Hale was a member of Sagle Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife; four daughters, JoAnn Bohmann of Sandpoint, Betty Jo Zerfoss of Everett, and Helen Southworth and Aimee Hale, both of Louisville, Ky.; a son, Don Hale of Sagle; a sister, Helen Nelson of Seaside, Ore.; two brothers, Clyde Hale of Sumner, Wash., and Warren Hale of British Columbia; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Jessie Motz Post Falls
No service will be held for Jessie Evelyn Motz, 91. Yates Funeral Home in Coeur d’Alene is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Motz, who was born in Nebraska, died Sunday.
In 1928 she married W. Laurence Motz, and they lived in Nebraska and later managed a mobile home park in Seattle. They retired to Startup, Wash., in 1972, and later lived in Mesa, Ariz. They moved to Sandpoint in 1997 and to Post Falls in 1998.
Her husband died earlier this year.
Survivors include a daughter, Theresa Sparr of Post Falls; two granddaughters, Lynn Fiedler of Auburn, Wash., and Dee Walser of Spokane; and three great-grandchildren.
Betty Chaffin Priest River, Idaho
Graveside service for Betty Lou Chaffin, 67, was Tuesday at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Sandpoint. Coffelt Funeral Service in Sandpoint was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Chaffin died Saturday.
She was born in Durant, Okla., and grew up and graduated from high school in Avenal, Calif.
She moved to Post Falls in 1970 and to the Priest River area in 1973. She sold real estate for Rainbow Realty.
She earned a Real Estate broker’s license and owned Northwest Realty before retiring in 1989 and moving to Priest Lake.
She moved back to Priest River in 1997, and enjoyed fishing, crocheting and needlework.
Survivors include two children, Keven Chaffin of Camarillo, Calif., and Karel Miller of Ponderay, Idaho; her mother, Ella Jay of Post Falls; her companion, Gordon Palm of Priest River; a brother, Bill Jay, and sister, Pat Cuthbert, both of Post Falls; and five grandchildren.
Craig Mast Kingston, Idaho
A celebration of the life of Craig Dale Mast, 56, will be Saturday at 3 p.m. at the Lions Community Building in Pinehurst, Idaho. Shoshone Funeral Service in Kellogg is in charge of cremation.
Mr. Mast, who was born in Kellogg, died Saturday.
He graduated in 1962 from Kellogg High School. He worked as a miner for the Bunker Hill Mining Co., until he was disabled by a work-related injury.
In 1972 he married Dianna Dunn.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Richard Mast of Coeur d’Alene and Steven Mast of Kingston; a sister, Darlene Currie of Kingston; and one grandson, Gaelen.

Robert Race Elk River, Idaho
Memorial service for Robert Lee Race, 69, will be Thursday at 3 p.m. at Elk River Community Bible Church. Short’s Funeral Chapel in Moscow, Idaho, is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Race, who died Friday , was born in Madison, Neb.
He attended school in North Shoshone, Idaho, area and worked on the family farm and homestead during World War II.
Mr. Race joined the Army in 1952 and served in Germany. After his discharge, he moved to Lewiston, where he began working for the railroad.
In 1954 he married Katherine Walker, and they lived in Lewiston, where he loaded boxcars for Potlatch Forest Industries. He later worked as a custodian and general maintenance employee for the Lewiston School District.
He was a volunteer firefighter in the Lewiston area before becoming part of the Lewiston City Fire Department. He retired in 1980, and he and his wife moved to Elk River.
He was a member of Elk River Community Bible Church and the Clarkston (Wash.) Moose Lodge.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Ronald Race of Sparks, Nev.; and one granddaughter, Marlo.

John McDonald Sagle, Idaho
Graveside service for John T. McDonald, 35, will be held at a later date in Mississippi. English Funeral Chapel in Coeur d’Alene is in charge of local arrangements.
Mr. McDonald, who was born in Biloxi, Miss., died Sunday.
He traveled throughout the United States before settling in the Sagle area a year and a half ago.
Mr. McDonald had worked as a laborer in the construction industry.
Survivors include his father and mother, John McDonald Sr. of Pass Christian, Miss., and Vi McDonald of Lakeland, Fla.; a brother, Edward McDonald of Atlanta; and two sisters, Laura Carnes of Indian Rocks Beach, Fla., and Deanna Peyton of Fairfax, Va.
