Fema Funds To Be Divided Among Groups

A local board, made of up representatives from Kootenai County Welfare, United Way and other organizations will decide how $95,617 in Federal Emergency Management Agency funds will be distributed.

To apply for Kootenai County’s share of the grant money, an organization must:

Be a private, voluntary nonprofit group or a unit of government;

Have an accounting system;

Practice no discrimination;

Have demonstrated the ability to deliver emergency food and/or shelter;

If a private voluntary organization, have a voluntary board;

Have a federal tax identification number;

Be in Kootenai County.
