Jamie Wakefield tossed in a game-high 18 points, Jennifer Bennett added 13 points and the pair combined for 16 rebounds to lead Whitworth to a 66-47 upset victory over Linfield in a Northwest Conference game played Friday at McMinnville, Ore.

Whitworth (12-6, 6-3) held Linfield (13-6, 8-2) to a measly 22 percent (11 of 50) shooting from the floor. The Pirates shot 51 percent (27 of 53).

Whitworth took command with a 15-2 run that turned a 9-4 deficit into a 19-11 lead midway through the first half. The Pirates had a commanding 43-27 edge on the boards.

Pepperdine 89, Gonzaga 67

Rasheeda Clark made 10 of 17 shots from the floor and finished with a game-high 29 points to lead the Waves to a West Coast Conference win over the Bulldogs in Malibu, Calif.

Sydney Perno had 13 points and pulled down five rebounds to pace Gonzaga (9-11, 2-5). Jessica Malone added 12 points and five rebounds.

Pepperdine (12-8, 5-2) hit 55 percent of its shots from the floor, including 42 percent (8 of 19) from 3-point range. The Bulldogs shot 40 percent and connected on just 3 of 16 from behind the arc. The Waves outrebounded Gonzaga 41-29.

Gonzaga plays at Loyola Marymount tonight.

Pacific 63, Idaho 57

Alli Nieman scored 36 points and grabbed 12 rebounds, both game highs, but it wasn’t enough to lift Idaho as the Vandals fell to Pacific in Big West Conference action at the A.G. Spanos Center in Stockton, Calif.

The Vandals (11-8, 4-2) outshot the Tigers (12-6, 3-3) 38 percent to 34 percent and had a 47-41 rebound advantage.

Idaho shot a dismal 1 for 15 from 3-point range and turned the ball over 27 times. Pacific hit only 1 of 9 3-pointers, but had 10 fewer turnovers.

Selena Ho paced the Tigers with 15 points and seven rebounds. Millie Kimpton added 10 points and nine boards and Vanessa Dupont came off the bench to score 14 points.

Nieman hit 15 of 24 shots from the floor, while the rest of the Vandals made just 5 of 29.

David Rusk had a team-high 16 points, including six in the last 3 minutes, to propel the Pirates (9-10, 4-7) to a Northwest Conference win over the Wildcats (13-7, 8-4) in McMinnville, Ore.

Whitworth sank 8 of 17 shots from 3-point range, compared to 2 of 13 for Linfield.

Whitworth went on an 11-0 run, at the end of the first half, capped by a Rusk 3-pointer, to take a two-point lead into the locker room.

Ryan Nelson finished with 15 points for the Pirates. Travis Meserve added eight points and three steals.
