Sylvia Seeman Spokane
Visitation for Sylvia D. Seeman, 69, will be Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Yates Funeral Home in Coeur d’Alene. Service will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with burial to be at Forest Cemetery in Coeur d’Alene. Mrs. Seeman, who was born in Eden, Idaho, died Sunday.
In 1938 she moved to Coeur d’Alene with her family and attended school there.
She married Wilfred Hagerty in 1948, and they traveled extensively while her husband was in the Air Force. They settled in Coeur d’Alene in 1963 after his retirement. He died in 1971.
She worked as a seamstress and did alterations for J.C. Penney in Coeur d’Alene.
In 1977 she married Stanley Seeman, and they later moved to Spokane. She worked as a receptionist at Felts Field Aviation and also received her private pilots license.
Mrs. Seeman retired in 1988.
She was a member of the Valley Eagles Lodge in Spokane and was active in gardening, needlework and flying. She also was a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Coeur d’Alene.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, David Hagerty of Kennewick and Michael Seeman of Spokane; six daughters, Vicki Okon of Coeur d’Alene, Susan Severson of Yakima, Sheryl Scott of Clayton, Wash., Theresa Jones of Kendrick, Idaho, and Patricia Seeman and Nancy Streich, both of Spokane; a brother, Albert Wolters of Osburn, Idaho; a sister, Josephine Christensen of Cave Bay, Idaho; 16 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Helen Isbelle Spokane
Graveside service for Helen W. Isbelle, 83, was held Monday at Riverside Cemetery in Spokane. Mountain View Funeral Home in Lewiston was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Isbelle, who was born in Garfield, Wash., died Friday.
She graduated from high school in Spokane and married John Isbelle in 1935. They lived in Lewiston from 1945 until 1955, when they moved to Orofino, Idaho.
Mrs. Isbelle took nursing classes in Orofino and worked at Clearwater Valley Hospital.
She and her husband moved back to Lewiston in 1963 and she worked at St. Jospeh’s Hospital until 1967, when the family moved to Spokane.
Mrs. Isbelle worked for Holy Family Hospital until her retirement. She moved back to Lewiston in 1998.
She was a volunteer with the Ronald McDonald House, Spokane County Crisis Line and the American Red Cross.
Her husband died in 1978.
Survivors include two daughters, Sharon Becker of Spokane and Carol Isbelle of Santa Fe, N.M.; a son, Jerry Isbelle of Lewiston; 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Rosalie Zehm Fairfield
Memorial service for Rosalie A. Zehm, 62, will be at 2 p.m. today at the Rosewood Cemetery in Fairfield. Spokane Cremation and Burial Society is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Zehm, who was born in Spokane, died Friday.
She graduated from Fairfield High School and later from Pacific Lutheran University, Lutheran Bible Institute and Eastern Washington University.
Mrs. Zehm taught school in Ephrata, Wash., for 24 years.
Survivors include a sister, Darlene Crosby, and a brother, Robert Zehm.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Dorris Eagle Spokane
Vigil service for Dorris O. Eagle, 86, will be at 7:30 p.m. today at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home. Funeral Mass is planned for 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church. Burial will be at Fairmount Memorial Park.
Mrs. Eagle, who was born in Tekoa, Wash., died Saturday.
She had been a resident of Oakesdale, Wash., and moved to Spokane five years ago.
Mrs. Eagle was a homemaker.
She was a member of St. Catherine’s Roman Catholic Church in Oakesdale and St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Spokane.
Her husband, George, died in 1988.
Survivors include a son, Terry Eagle of Chelan, Wash.; two daughters, Doreene Mott of Spokane and Sheila Wicken of Farmington, Wash.; four grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

Kaye Carlson Coeur d’Alene
Service for Kaye B. Carlson, 63, will be held today at 2 p.m. at Yates Funeral Home in Coeur d’Alene. Burial will follow at Coeur d’Alene Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Carlson, who was born in Spokane, died Sunday from cancer.
She grew up in Coeur d’Alene and graduated from high school there. She attended Deaconess School of Nursing in Spokane before receiving her R.N. from North Idaho College.
Mrs. Carlson worked locally as a nurse, and was a member of Chapter A.G. and a charter member of Chapter CB, both of the P.E.O Sisterhood.
She was also a member of the Coeur d’Alene First Presbyterian Church and was involved with Job’s Daughters and Campfire Girls.
Mrs. Carlson was active in hiking and camping, and played the guitar and sang with her husband, Chuck.
Survivors include her husband of 20 years; four daughters, Janine Eakin and Teresa Mathers, both of Coeur d’Alene, and Laura Wade and Rene Amoroso, both of Liberty Lake; two sons, Chad Goodwin of Mountain Home, Idaho, and Mark Goodwin of Post Falls; her mother, Ruth Burch of Coeur d’Alene; five sisters, June Tracy of Spokane, Donna Quane of Hayden Lake, Idaho, Phyllis Peters and Ruth Carole Hayman, both of Burke, Idaho, and Dianne Higgens of Coeur d’Alene; and 10 grandchildren.

Donella Fisher Deer Park
Graveside service for Donella Elise Fisher, 69, will be at 10 a.m. today at Woodland Cemetery in Deer Park. Memorial service will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Good Samaritan Village in Greenacres. Lauer Funeral Home in Deer Park is in charge of arrangements.
Miss Fisher, who was born in Bisbee, Ariz., died Saturday. She was a 21-year Spokane and Deer Park resident.
She graduated from Dorsey High School in Los Angeles in 1949, and was a captain in the Army between 1962 and 1967.
She worked as an executive secretary for Southern California Gas in Los Angeles and later for Bankers Life in Des Moines, Iowa.
Miss Fisher moved to Spokane and owned and operated The Sweet Place in the Spokane Valley for many years.
She is survived by her brother, Bruce Fisher of Loon Lake, Wash.
Isaac Morris Spokane
Memorial service for Isaac Clinton Morris, 73, was held Monday at Starr Road Baptist Church in Otis Orchards. Mr. Morris, who was born and raised in Chewey, Okla., died June 13.
He moved to Spokane in 1972 from Oroville, Calif., and worked for Brown’s Pool Co. as a cement finisher. He retired in 1976.
Mr. Morris was a member of Starr Road Baptist Church.
Survivors include four sons, Wiley, David and Robert Morris, all of Spokane, and Clinton Morris of Otis Orchards; two daughters, Julie Keller of Spokane and Helen Owen; three brothers, Clifton Morris of Westville, Okla., Max Morris of Kermit, Texas, and David Morris of Oklahoma; a sister, Lorraine; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Dorthea Sprengel Republic, Wash.
Service for Dorthea S. “Dora” Sprengel, 94, was held Monday at the Redeemer Episcopal Church in Republic. Bergh Funeral Service of Republic was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in the Republic Cemetery.
Mrs. Sprengel, who was born near Republic, died June 14.
She was a teacher and had taught in the Washington towns of Orient, Inchelium, Barstow, Curlew and Republic for many years.
After her retirement she taught music in her home, serving as many as 40 student per week.
She is survived by her brother, Lawrence Sprengel of Yakima.

Thelma `Peggy’ Brehemer Spokane
Private graveside service for Thelma M. “Peggy” Brehmer, 89, will be at 11 a.m. today at Pines Cemetery. Memorial service is planned for 2 p.m. today at Millwood Presbyterian Church. Thornhill Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Brehemer, who was born in Wabasu, Ark., died Thursday. She was a 55-year Spokane resident.
In 1928 she graduated from Broadway High School in Seattle and later from Olympic College in Bremerton with a nursing degree.
Mrs. Brehemer married John Espen in 1936. He died in 1947.
She married James Brehemer in 1949.
Mrs. Brehemer worked as a nurse in Spokane.
She was a past member and matron of the Magnolia Chapter 194 of the Order of Eastern Star and a past officer of Moran Prarie Grange. She also was a member of Millwood Presbyterian Church and its Satellite Club, Women’s Association Naomi Circle, Orchard Avenue Women’s Club and the Auxiliary at Valley Hospital and Medical Center, where she also volunteered for 20 years.
Her husband died in 1965.
Survivors include two daughters, Kathie Weaver of Spokane and Laurie Haak of Cortez, Colo.; a son, John Espen of Flagstaff, Ariz.; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Patricia (Bowman) Durgan Spokane
Service for Patricia Ann (Bowman) Durgan, 47, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Spokane Faith Center. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery. Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Durgan, who was born in Anaconda, Mont., and raised in Anchorage, Alaska, died Saturday.
She moved to Spokane in 1977.
Mrs. Durgan was a dental assistant. She received her journalism degree from Eastern Washington University and trained as a teacher at Whitworth College. She later received an associate’s degree in ministerial studies from Spokane Faith Center’s Destiny Ministry Training Center in 1998 and afterward taught classes there.
She was a member of the Spokane Faith Center.
Survivors include her husband, Joe; a daughter, Echo Henjum, and a son, Eric Woodard, both of Spokane; her parents, Lee and Judy Bowman of Henderson, Nev.; three brothers, David Bowman of Spokane, and Michael and Matthew Bowman, both of Anchorage, Alaska; and three grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Patricia Durgan Memorial Fund at Spokane Faith Center. Donations will be made to charities that assisted with Mrs. Durgan’s care.
Eva Traut Coeur d’Alene
Private burial for Eva Pauline Traut, 89, will be held at a later date at Evergreen Cemetery in Post Falls. English Funeral Chapel in Post Falls is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Traut, who was born in Missouri, died Thursday.
She moved to Kellogg in 1933 and married Cecil Traut in 1936. They lived in the Silver Valley and in 1989 moved to Post Falls. He died in 1991.
Mrs. Traut was a homemaker.
Survivors include a daughter, Bettie Solum of Coeur d’Alene; three grandchildren, Bobbi Whatcott of Post Falls, Paula Vandenburg of Spokane and Scott Svingen of Portland; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Irene Rintala Spokane
Memorial service for Irene L. Rintala, 73, will be held at a later date in Red Lodge, Mont. Spokane Cremation and Burial Society is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Rintala, who was born in Fox, Mont., died Friday.
She moved to Spokane in 1982 and worked at Southcrest Convalescent Center.
Her husband, Hugo, died in 1967.
Survivors include three daughters, Judy Christiansen and Karen Kent, both of Spokane, and Gayle Maylor of Billings, Mont.; a son, Bruce Rintala of Spokane; two sisters in California; and five grandchildren.
Erna Whitney Cheney
Memorial service for Erna A. Whitney, 67, was held at Lincoln Heights Congregational Church on June 12. Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Whitney, who was born in Grand Rapids, Minn., died June 7.
She graduated from Valleyford High School in 1952.
Mrs. Whitney worked for the telephone company for years. She married Orville Hancock, and they later divorced.
Mrs. Whitney married John Abbott, who adopted her two children in 1962.
She worked for Sears for many years and recently retired from Boeing.
Mrs, Whitney married to Stewart Whitney in 1980.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Robert Abbott; a daughter, Rebecca Light; six stepdaughters, Ruth Anderson, Diane Whitney, Dawn Yarnell, Bonnie Cozzetto, Carrie Hartley and Candis White; a stepson, Gregory Whitney; her mother, Jean Hartman; a stepsister, Donna Paras; two stepbrothers, Donald and Boyd Hartman; and five grandchildren Memorial contributions may be made to Lincoln Heights Congregational Church or the American Cancer Society.
Ernest Horr Spokane
Memorial service for Ernest Horr, 79, will be today at 1 p.m. at Community Bible Chapel. Riplinger Funeral home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Horr, a lifetime resident of Spokane, died Friday.
He was an auto mechanic at Spokane Chrysler Plymouth. Mr. Horr was a member of Community Bible Chapel and the Inland Empire S Gauge Model Railroad Association.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Harriett; a son, Robert Horr of Camas, Wash.; and two grandsons.

Arthur Myers Spokane
Service for Arthur J. Myers, 87, was held Monday at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church. Burial was at St. Joseph’s Cemetery on East Trent. Thornhill Valley Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Meyers, who was born in Uniontown, Wash., died Wednesday.
He was an auto mechanic.
Mr. Myers was a member of the Over The Hill Gang of Liberty Lake.
Survivors include his wife, Laura; five sons, Robert, Ronald and William Myers, all of Spokane, Duane Myers of Medical Lake and Gary Myers of Colbert; two brothers and two half brothers; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Daniel Ervin Spokane
Memorial service for Daniel Lynn Ervin, 43, was held Monday at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home.
Mr. Ervin, a lifetime resident of Spokane, died last Wednesday.
He graduated from Rogers High School in 1974.
Mr. Ervin was an auto mechanic.
He was a member of the Eagles Lodge and Duck Hunters Unlimited.
Survivors include his companion, Linda Hendricks; a daughter, Tricia Ervin, a son, Andrew Ervin, his parents, Michael and Nedra Ervin, and two brothers, Bill and Rob Ervin, all of Spokane; and one granddaughter.

Helen Smith Newport, Wash.
Memorial service for Helen Isadora “Dora” Smith, 97, will be at 1 p.m. today at Sherman-Knapp Funeral Home in Newport. Graveside inurnment will follow at the Newport Cemetery.
Mrs. Smith, who was born in Fennville, Mich., died Saturday.
She lived in Spokane from 1917 until 1926, when her family moved to Newport.
She attended North Central High School and would commute between Spokane and Newport to see her family on the weekends.
Mrs. Smith was the bookkeeper for her father’s Ford dealership, which is now Jackson Ford Motors. She married Robert Smith, who was a mechanic at the dealership, in 1929.
She was a 50-year member of the American Legion Auxiliary and a past member of the Pochahontas Lodge in Newport.
Her husband preceded her in death.
Survivors include three sons, Lee Smith of Oldtown, Idaho, Clark Smith of Stayton, Ore., and Robert Smith of Anchorage, Alaska; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Newport Cemetery Improvement Fund.
Eula Hastie Otis Orchards
Visitation for Eula Fay Hastie, 87, will be from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Thornhill Valley Funeral Home. Service is planned for 3 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Pines Cemetery.
Mrs. Hastie, who was born and raised in Tuckerman, Ark., died Friday.
She lived in Memphis, Tenn., Washington, D.C., and Pasco before moving to Spokane in 1990.
Mrs. Hastie was a homemaker.
She was active in the Army Officer’s Wives Club.
Her husband, Francis, died in 1994.
Survivors include a daughter, Michele Berry of Spokane; a son, Mike Hastie of Otis Orchards; two brothers, Jim Sneed of Tullahoma, Tenn., and Jerry Sneed of Orlando, Fla.; three sisters, Mary Johns of Orlando, Wynette Geyer of Carnegie, Pa., and Jodie Carman of Warrenton, Mo.; three grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Catherine Clark Spokane
Memorial Mass for Catherine E. Clark, 80, will be at 11 a.m. today at St. Ann Roman Catholic Church. Private inurnment will be in Sparta, Wis., at a later date. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Miss Clark, who was born in Vassar, Mich., died Monday.
She belonged to the Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration for 37 years. She taught in elementary schools for 31 years in Washington, Wisconsin and Iowa, and also acted as principal at several Catholic schools including Trinity School in Spokane. She worked in rectories in Walla Walla, Spokane and Medical Lake for the past 25 years.
Miss Clark was a member of Fairways Ladies Golf League.
Survivors include two brothers, Larry Clark and Jerome Hesseling, and a sister, Emily Axelsen.
