For those who have a yen for a waterfront getaway — but don’t have the money for property on a lake or river — a float home may fill the bill. Realtors say they’re seeing renewed interest in North Idaho’s about 170 float homes, most of which are located on Lake Pend Oreille. With an average sales price of about $70,000, float homes are “one of the best-kept secrets,” one owner says.
