HBO has dropped plans for a “Sex and the City” feature film after Kim Cattrall refused to commit. Cattrall insisted on having both script approval and a paycheck equal to series star Sarah Jessica Parker, reports TV Guide Online.

When HBO refused to meet her demands, Cattrall instead signed on to star in Disney’s upcoming skating flick “Ice Princess.”

Cattrall’s rep says her client “would have loved to have done the movie,” but “waited as long as possible with no script or start date and felt she had to take other offers that were presented to her.”

Responds HBO: “We’ve had six wonderful years with the show and we’re extremely proud of what we’ve accomplished.”

The cable series ended in February, although edited reruns will begin airing June 15 on TBS.

So, it’s going to be a little girl Friend

Former “Friends” star Courteney Cox is expecting a girl, she and husband David Arquette have revealed.

The Hollywood couple — who have been trying to conceive for years — decided to speak out on their happy news after becoming infuriated by erroneous rumors surrounding 39-year-old Cox’s pregnancy. In recent months, they have had to endure reports that Cox was expecting twins, but one died.

Let’s hope things don’t go sourdough

Allison Janney of “The West Wing” found her heart in San Francisco, where she and actor Richard Jenik became engaged to marry.

The couple, who live in L.A. and have dated for two years, were vacationing last week when he popped the question, said a spokesman for Janney. The 43-year-old actress is a three-time Emmy winner for her role as press secretary C.J. Cregg on the White House drama.

Jenik has appeared in TV series including “Home Improvement” and “The District” and in the 2002 film “Hidden Agenda.”

At long last, Cage is officially free

After a year and a half in court, Nicolas Cage and Lisa Marie Presley have finally ended a marriage that lasted less than four months.

Final divorce documents filed Monday show that neither will pay financial support to the other and each will retain any assets they had prior to the marriage. They filed for separation in November 2002, just a few months after their romantic wedding in Hawaii that August.

They hit the rocks, but she kept one

Jen Schefft says she and Andrew Firestone of “The Bachelor” have a bond despite their split — and she’s still got the engagement ring.

“Obviously, it’s a beautiful ring and Andrew said that he bought that for me and that it was mine to keep, so I’m gonna keep it,” Schefft says on “The Bachelor: After the Final Rose,” a special that aired Wednesday night.

Firestone proposed to Schefft on last May’s season finale of the reality show, but their breakup was announced in December. She also briefly dated “The Apprentice” winner Bill Rancic.
