Suppose they checked in as Mr. and Mrs. Smith?

Brad Pitt is not romantically involved with Angelina Jolie, his publicist insists. In its April 18 issue, Us Weekly proclaims on its cover, “It’s True!” over separate photos of Pitt, 41, and the 29-year-old Jolie.

The magazine quotes employees of a California hotel who claim they saw the two actors being affectionate.

“This particular story is completely untrue,” said Pitt’s publicist, Cindy Guagenti.

Replied Us Weekly: “Pitt has long denied stories involving his personal life, beginning with reports of trouble in his marriage to Jennifer Aniston prior to the separation.”

Aniston recently filed for divorce from Pitt after 41/2 years of marriage, citing irreconcilable differences. The couple announced their separation in January.

Tabloids have speculated for months about a romance between Pitt and Jolie, co-stars of the upcoming movie “Mr. and Mrs. Smith.”

To him, that’s just P. diddly

Hip-hop star Sean “P. Diddy” Combs has been ordered to pay more than $21,000 a month in child support to an ex-girlfriend with whom he has an 11-year-old son.

The order came after Combs appealed a court ruling last year that he should pay $35,000 a month. He currently pays about $5,000.

The ex-girlfriend, Misa Hylton-Brim, had sued for higher monthly payments and about $398,000 in back support for their son, Justin.

It’s water under the bridge for Brooke

Brooke Shields says she was so low after giving birth to daughter Rowan in 2003 that she contemplated suicide.

The actress reveals her battle with the blues in her new book “Down Came the Rain: My Journey Through Postpartum Depression.”

“I didn’t feel joy at all. I was in a bizarre state of mind,” writes Shields, 39. “This was sadness of a shockingly different magnitude. It felt as if it would never go away.”

But despite the depression and her many failed efforts to conceive in the past, Shields says, “I really want to have more children.”

Just wait until they start kissing

Like many parents, Madonna and Guy Ritchie are having a hard time understanding their own children – but in this case, it’s because they speak in French all the time.

Rocco and Lourdes attend the posh Lycée Français School in west London, where they study the language.

“They talk to each other in French all day, chatting away nonstop,” says grandfather John Ritchie. “It’s very funny. Neither Guy or Madonna speak a word of the language so they cannot understand anything.”

Get your own material, girls

Speaking of Madonna, teen queen Hilary Duff and her older sister, Haylie, are teaming up to make a movie inspired by the ‘80s song “Material Girl.”

They’ll play a pair of sisters who are rather, well, “material.” Drama ensues when a corporate scandal leaves the celebutante heiresses virtually penniless.

Hilary will render her interpretation of Madonna’s song for the soundtrack.
