Red Storm lose guard Hill

Associated Press

NEW YORK – St. John’s junior guard Daryll Hill underwent arthroscopic surgery on his injured left knee on Monday.

The surgery was performed by Dr. Answorth Allen, orthopedic consultant to St. John’s and to the New York Knicks, according to Red Storm coach Norm Roberts. The surgery took place at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York.

The St. John’s medical staff expects Hill’s rehabilitation period to take between three and four months. Hill should be able to resume basketball activities this summer.

“We look forward to Daryll being healthy again, and rejoining the team for our summer workouts,” Roberts said.

Hill, a preseason first-team All-Big East selection, played in 16 games this season, averaging 12.3 points, 3.6 assists and 3.5 rebounds. He was second on the team in scoring to Lamont Hamilton (12.5).
