Central Valley SCOPE – Volunteers voted to elect new officers. The results will be announced at the next meeting. They also spent a lot of time recently providing hospitality during two days of crime prevention workshops at CenterPlace. (Source: Board member Marilyn Cline)

Millwood City Council – Council members decided to have a land-use attorney review the town’s zoning ordinances. They also discussed traffic control issues stemming from the shutdown of Argonne Road, which starts tonight at 10 and continues until 9 p.m. Sunday for replacement of the railroad crossing at Euclid and Argonne. The mayor said he would like to have a special meeting in April to discuss the results of a survey sent to Millwood residents in January. (Source: Town clerk Eva Colomb)

Valley Fire – Only two commissioners were in attendance. They tabled discussions of annexation of property near Moab Junction and a new facilities policy until the next meeting. (Source: Commissioner Joe Dawson)

Fairfield City Council – The refurbishment of the town’s water tank will start on March 27. Residents may notice a drop in water pressure during the 25-day project. Council members approved the design of a new sign for Thiel Park and received word that the town’s law enforcement contract with the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office has been approved by Spokane County Commissioners. The town also was notified recently that it had received a $27,500 grant from the Transportation Improvement Board Small City Preservation Program for chip seal repairs on the streets. Council members also plan to apply for a grant from the Spokane County Parks and Recreation Department to purchase picnic tables and barbecues for the upper park. (Source: Town Clerk Sue Adams)

Edgecliff SCOPE – Volunteers discussed several ongoing projects, including the clothing drive and an upcoming collection of household hazardous waste on April 29. The group’s annual fund-raiser breakfast is scheduled for April 2. Volunteers also will be in today’s St. Patrick’s Day parade with the Edgecliff train. (Source: President Rick Scott)
