Amid charges, man has his bail revoked

A Spokane County man awaiting trial on charges that he battered his parents and robbed his girlfriend has had his bail revoked for alleged violation of a no-contact order. Bryce Michael Shellerud, 20, is charged with two counts of fourth-degree domestic assault and one count of attempted second-degree assault in connection with an alleged attack on his parents on July 9 at the family home in the 4300 block of East Silver Spur Lane. Court documents say Shellerud argued with his parents, Gary and Deborah Shellerud, about a vehicle he wanted to use. He allegedly threatened to kill them, grabbed his mother’s hair and shook her head, and put his father in a headlock and choked him when his father refused to be baited into throwing a punch. Bryce Shellerud withdrew to a pasture behind the house after his father broke free and his mother called the sheriff’s office, according to court documents. Deputies said Shellerud struggled and tried unsuccessfully to pull a knife with a 5-inch blade from his pocket while he was being frisked. Shellerud also was charged with first-degree robbery in connection with a Sept. 7 incident in the parking lot of a pawn shop on North Division. He allegedly punched Alyssa C. Perez in the face and shoulder and took $390 and her cell phone. Court documents say Shellerud also tried to take her car keys, but she refused and drove away when he went into the pawn shop. Deputy Prosecutor Mark Lindsey added a second-degree kidnapping charge on Thursday.
