In response to Britney Spears‘ divorce petition, Kevin Federline is seeking sole custody of the couple’s two children.

The aspiring rapper, who released his first album last week to poor reviews and sales, is also seeking spousal support.

“Kevin is prepared to go the distance in order to do what he feels is necessary to protect and safeguard the children and will not be intimidated or dissuaded from pursuit of those goals,” said a spokesman for his attorney.

Federline, 28, and Spears, 24, have a 1-year-old son, Sean Preston, and an infant son, Jayden James, who was born Sept. 12.

Spears’ parenting has been questioned on several occasions involving Sean Preston, including incidents where he was seen riding in her lap or facing the wrong way in a car seat.

On his way to party at a club following a performance in Chicago on Wednesday, Federline was asked by a reporter if he was prepared for a legal fight with Spears. He smirked and didn’t answer.

The confrontation came while she was filming a new movie Wednesday at a casino in Richmond, B.C.

Said Richards’ publicist: “Based on the actions of the paparazzi, they are lucky their laptops were the only things that were thrown off the ledge.”

Actor Daniel Baldwin has been arrested on suspicion of stealing a sport utility vehicle.

Baldwin – the brother of fellow actors Alec, Stephen and William – was stopped Wednesday by officers in Santa Monica, Calif., who saw him in a white GMC Yukon reported stolen by an acquaintance of his.

The 46-year-old Baldwin made news in July when he drove a rented car at more than 80 mph through Los Angeles traffic and crashed into two parked vehicles. In April, he was arrested for investigation of cocaine possession, but no charges were filed.

Cosby case closed

Bill Cosby has settled a lawsuit with a woman who claims the entertainer drugged and sexually assaulted her at his home in 2004.

Cosby, 69, says he gave her Benadryl after she complained of stress and sleep problems, and made her breakfast the next morning.

The woman – a former employee of Cosby’s alma mater, Temple University, who called him a friend and mentor – went to authorities a year later but no criminal charges were filed.
