Watch for important bills

The Spokesman-Review

The state Legislature is now in session with many bills being discussed. One very excellent one – sponsored by our own Rep. John Ahern – is HB 1321 – Parental Notification Requirement for Abortion, which would require parents of “women of childbearing age” as young as 10 to be notified before their daughters receive an abortion.

Other bills for concerned citizens to check out are: SB 5336 and HB 1350, which would give special benefits to those declaring they are nonmarried co-habitating couples; SB 5297 and HB 1297 – Sex education expanded for all-aged children in all schools, public and private; and HB 1336 – UW wants to expand its “tissue marketing” operation by cloning its own baby humans.

For more information on these and other bills, call Danille Turissini of Positive Christian Agenda at 360-301-4134. (They put out an excellent e-mail newsletter.) To support or oppose any bills before the Legislature, phone the legislative hotline at 800-562-6000.
