NBA : Lewis glows in debut

Rashard Lewis scored 26 points and Hedo Turkoglu had 24 to lift the sharp-shooting Orlando Magic to a 102-83 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks in the teams’ season opener Wednesday night at Orlando, Fla.

Behind Turkoglu and Lewis, the former SuperSonic making his Magic debut, Orlando buried Milwaukee from behind the arc. The Magic were 12 of 22 from there, compared with 4 of 17 for the Bucks. Lewis was 4 of 5 on 3s and Turkoglu 3 for 5.

Michael Redd led Milwaukee with 25 points.

Spurs 104, Grizzlies 101: At Memphis, Tenn., Manu Ginobili scored 30 points, including the go-ahead basket with 32 seconds left, and San Antonio beat Memphis.

Ginobili, who had nine points down the stretch, added seven assists and drew a late charge to preserve the Spurs’ lead.

Pacers 119, Wizards 110 (OT): At Indianapolis, Jamaal Tinsley scored 16 of his 20 points in the fourth quarter and overtime, and Indiana beat Washington to give coach Jim O’Brien a win in his debut.

Gilbert Arenas led the Wizards with 34 points, including a 3-pointer as time expired in regulation to force OT.

Nets 112, Bulls 103 (OT): At East Rutherford, N.J., Antoine Wright scored 14 of his career-high 21 points in the fourth quarter and overtime to lead New Jersey to a win over Chicago.

Richard Jefferson had 29 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Nets.

Mavericks 92, Cavaliers 74: Jason Terry scored 24 points, Dirk Nowitzki added 15 and Dallas beat Cleveland.

Jerry Stackhouse added 17 points for Dallas, which got six 3-pointers from Terry.

LeBron James had the worst opening night of his career, scoring 10 points on 2-of-11 shooting. Zydrunas Ilgauskas led the Cavs with 17 points and 18 rebounds.

Hornets 104, Kings 90: Chris Paul had 22 points and 12 assists, while Peja Stojakovic had 19 points to help host New Orleans beat Sacramento.

Tyson Chandler had 15 points and 13 rebounds for the Hornets, while David West scored 17.

Raptors 106, 76ers 97: Andrea Bargnani scored 20 points and host Toronto earned a victory over Philadelphia in the season opener for both teams.

T.J. Ford had 14 points and 12 assists for Toronto.

Joey Crawford officiated his first NBA regular-season game since being suspended for the end of last season and the playoffs for improper on-court conduct, working Indiana’s victory over Washington. … Los Angeles Lakers owner Jerry Buss has been suspended for two games and fined $25,000 in conjunction with a conviction on a misdemeanor drunken driving charge.
