Doneal Mack scored a career-high 23 points, making seven 3-pointers, to lead No. 2 Memphis to a school-record 40th straight home win 90-53 over Pepperdine on Saturday.

Five players scored in double figures for Memphis (13-0), which has not dropped a home game since losing 69-58 to Texas on Jan. 2, 2006. Chris Douglas-Roberts added 14 points, and Antonio Anderson and Willie Kemp finished with 12 each. Robert Dozier finished with 11.

For the second consecutive game, the Tigers were led by a reserve. Backup guard Jeff Robinson had 20 points and 10 rebounds Thursday in a 102-58 victory over Siena.

“It shows how deep we can go on our bench,” Mack said. “We’ve just got to stay consistent.”

Tyrone Shelley led the Waves (5-10) with 17 points and 11 rebounds. Malcolm Thomas, Pepperdine’s second-leading scorer at 15 points a game, was limited to 10.

“They’re as good as they come,” Pepperdine coach Vance Walberg said about Memphis. “They just wear you down.”

(3) Kansas 85, Boston College 60: Darnell Jackson scored 25 points with nine rebounds and Darrell Arthur added 22 points to lead the Jayhawks (14-0) past the Eagles (10-3) in Boston.

Kansas won its first 14 games for the sixth time in school history, while Boston College failed in its first game against a ranked opponent this season.

(6) Michigan State 65, Minnesota 59: Raymar Morgan scored a career-high 31 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lift the Spartans (13-1, 1-0) over the Golden Gophers (10-3, 0-1) in a Big Ten opener in East Lansing, Mich.

Morgan was 11 for 17 from the field and finished with his third double-double this season.

(7) Georgetown 58, Rutgers 46: Freshman Austin Freeman scored 13 points to lead the Hoyas (11-1, 1-0) to a win over the Scarlet Knights (8-7, 0-2) in Big East play in Piscataway, N.J.

It was Georgetown’s sixth straight win over Rutgers and the eighth in their last nine meetings. It was the Hoyas’ seventh straight win in a Big East opener.

(12) Texas A&M 79, LSU 53: Donald Sloan had 17 points as the Aggies (14-1) got an easy win over the injury-riddled Tigers (7-7) in College Station, Texas.

It’s the first time the Aggies have been 14-1 since the 1921-22 season.

LSU, which has been missing Tasmin Mitchell and Quintin Thornton due to injuries, played its first game without center Chris Johnson, who broke a bone in his hand Wednesday.

(14) Texas 81, Saint Mary’s 62: D.J. Augustin scored 30 points and the Longhorns (13-2) rolled to a victory over the Gaels (12-2) in Austin, Texas.

Omar Samhan scored 13 points to lead the Gaels, whose five-game winning streak ended.

(15) Vanderbilt 97, Massachusetts 88: Shan Foster scored 32 points, A.J. Ogilvy added 25 and the unbeaten Commodores (15-0) rallied for a victory over the Minutemen (11-3) in Nashville, Tenn., to extend the best start in school history.

Vanderbilt trailed by 14 points in the first half and nine in the second before charging back on the strength of their 3-point shooting.

(16) Butler 73, Valparaiso 65: Mike Green matched his career high with 24 points and added eight rebounds to help the Bulldogs (13-1, 2-1) fend off the Crusaders (11-4, 2-1) in Horizon League action in Indianapolis.

Butler won its fifth straight to match the best start in school history.

(25) Wisconsin 64, Iowa 51: Brian Butch scored 22 points and the Badgers (12-2, 2-0) continued their home dominance in the Big Ten with a victory over the Hawkeyes (7-8, 0-2) at Madison, Wis.

The Badgers won their sixth straight game even with a tepid early shooting performance other than Butch. Not that it mattered at home in the Kohl Center, where coach Bo Ryan’s teams are 100-6 and 47-2 against Big Ten opponents.
