Ibanez makes Hutch list

Seattle Mariners outfielder Raul Ibanez, Boston pitcher Jon Lester and Chicago White Sox outfielder Ken Griffey were among the 10 finalists named Tuesday for the 2008 Hutch Award.

Others were Rocco Baldelli (Tampa Bay), Lance Berkman (Houston), Doug Davis (Arizona), Cliff Lee (Cleveland), Aaron Rowand (San Francisco), Mark Teahen (Kansas City) and Vernon Wells (Toronto).

The recipient will be named in mid-November. The award is given annually to the player “who best exemplifies the fighting spirit and competitive desire” of Seattle native Fred Hutchinson.
