Indians top Bantams

Dedicating the game to Austin Pete, who had been critically injured a week ago, the Colville Indians (4-4, 2-3) pulled off an upset in the Great Northern League, beating Clarkston (4-4, 3-2) 28-21 in Clarkston.

The Indians’ defense held the Bantams to 21 points, allowing the offense to take a 14-point lead at the end of the third quarter. Casey Cox led the defense with 14 tackles and Jared Fisher added 10 and an interception.

Cheney 33, Riverside 0: The Blackhawks (5-3, 4-1) rebounded from their first league loss a week ago by shutting out the Rams (4-4, 1-4) in Riverside. Diondre Moore-Young carried the ball seven times for 115 yards and two touchdowns and Ben Bissell rushed for one score and threw for another for the Blackhawks.

Deer Park 49, Medical Lake 12: Tevin Heins ran the ball 24 times for 208 yards and two TDs and quarterback Alex Wolf added four rushing touchdowns as the Stags (6-2, 3-2) handled the visiting Cardinals (2-6, 0-5).

Northeast A

Chewelah 15, Kettle Falls 9: The Cougars (4-4, 3-0) took one step closer to a league title against the Bulldogs (4-4, 2-2), scoring 15 straight points in the third quarter to pick up the win in Kettle Falls. Calvin Connall hauled the ball 21 times for 92 yards and scored the Cougars’ first touchdown before Sam Fisk’s 37-yard scamper put them up for good.

Freeman 40, Lakeside (WA) 0: Led by the play of linebacker Hayden Laadf, the Scotties (2-5, 2-1) held the Eagles (2-6, 1-2) to 92 yards of offense at Nine Mile Falls. The Scotties rushed for five scores, including two by Josh Richardson, who tallied 54 yards on the ground.

Northeast 2B

Reardan 50, Springdale 24: Junior Chase Bell led the Indians (4-3, 3-1) with 150 yards and three scores in the opening quarter to knock off the Chargers (1-5, 0-4) in Springdale.

Lind-Ritzville 14, Davenport 7: The Broncos (3-3, 2-1) scored two first-half touchdowns and held on to win against the visiting Gorillas (4-3, 2-2), despite failing to reach the end zone in the second half. Jake Eichner led the Broncos with 75 yards on the ground, 83 yards passing and two combined TDs.

Southeast 2B

Tekoa-Oakesdale/Rosalia 33, Liberty Christian 0: Zach St. John led the Nighthawks (3-5, 2-3) with 188 yards and three TDs in a win against the Patriots (1-6, 0-4). Scott Eberle added 112 yards and one score for TOR.

Northeast 1B

Columbia 70, Curlew 20: At Hunters, the Lions (7-1, 7-1) scored at least 20 points in three quarters against the visiting Cougars (0-8, 0-8), amassing 581 yards of offense, including 312 on the ground. Paul Larue ran the ball five times for the Lions for 143 yards, reaching the end zone three times.

Cusick 52, Inchelium 6: The Panthers (8-0, 7-0) scored 28 points in the first quarter, including three rushing TDs by Josiah Rhoades, beating the Hornets in Cusick. Rhoades’ three touchdown runs were his only three carries of the game, totaling 85 yards.

Wilbur-Creston 34, Odessa 16: Logan Jannot rushed for three first-half touchdowns for the visiting Wildcats (6-2, 6-2) and the Tigers (4-4, 4-4) were unable to match their offensive output, turning the ball over 10 times.

Southeast 1B

Touchet 26, St. John-Endicott 18: The Indians (4-3, 3-1) outscored the Eagles (2-6, 0-2) 20-6 in the first half, led by three passing touchdowns from Jacob Hottenfield in Touchet.

Almira/Coulee-Hartline 86, Pateros 46: Dylan Tipps and Derek Issak each rushed for three touchdowns and Issak also threw for two more in the Warriors’ (7-1, 6-1) home win over the Billygoats (3-5, 2-5). Issak finished the game with 96 yards on the ground and 174 more through the air for the Warriors.

Tri-Cities Prep 46, LaCrosse-Washtucna-Kahlotus 0: The Jaguars (5-2, 2-0) blanked the visiting Tigercats (4-3, 1-3). No other details were available.

Intermountain

Timberlake 35, Kellogg 13: In its last league test of the season, the Tigers (7-1, 5-0) made sure they took the IML title outright, beating the Wildcats (1-7, 1-4) to run the table in league play. John Morris rushed for 70 yards and reached the end zone three times.

Priest River 7, St. Maries 6: Sloppy conditions contributed to a combined 17 fumbles in the Trojans’ (6-2, 3-2) win over the Lumberjacks (0-8, 0-5) in St. Maries.

Non-league

Colton 34, Lyle-Klickitat-Wishram 28: Sam Robertson scored the first and last touchdowns for the Wildcats (7-0, 3-0), with the last being a 15-yard interception returned for the winning score at Colton. Robertson totaled four touchdowns.

Newport 20, Liberty 12: The visiting Grizzlies (0-7, 0-3) scored the game’s first 13 points and put the Lancers (1-6, 0-2) away with a 2-yard run by Gibson Hunt in the fourth quarter.

Colfax 31, North Central JV 28: The Bulldogs (7-0, 3-0) did all their scoring in the first three quarters and then held off a late run by the Indians to win in Colfax. Colfax’s Alex Teady rushed for three TDs.

Wellpinit 48, Selkirk 24: The Redskins (3-4, 2-4) scored 32 points in the second and third quarters to upend the host Rangers (6-2) in Ione.

Sprague-Harrington 42, Valley Christian 32: The Falcons (2-5, 1-5) beat the host Panthers (0-6). No other details were available.
