In brief: Parks offer cross country ski lesson Sunday

MOUNT SPOKANE – Spokane Parks and Recreation is offering a family cross country ski lesson on Sunday, from 10 a.m. to noon.

The class is for children age 6 to adult and will be taught by professional ski instructors. A SNO-PARK permit is required.

Cost is $99 for a family of four and $25 for each additional person.

DeCristoforo honored by Molina Healthcare

SPOKANE – Molina Healthcare of Washington recently recognized Ralph DeCristoforo, of Spokane, at the second annual Community Champions awards.

DeCristoforo was honored as for advocacy and as a civic leader. He also received a $1,000 grant to give to the organization of his choice, which he gave to Christ Clinic, a Spokane clinic that advocates for those in need.

DeCristoforo was nominated for his work with Health for All Project as an advocate for healthcare in the Spokane community. The former Air Force captain said that while he worked, the nonprofit agency has connected more than 50,000 individuals in Spokane County with access to public or private healthcare resources.
